Review of The Car (1977) by Cory C — 21 Jul 2007
This movie is the epitome of 70's cheesy 'B' movies. With that being said, I loved it!!
I remember watching this on TV all of the time when I was a kid.....it kind of gave me the willies. When I watch it now, it has lost some of its original scare factor, but the audio still gives me chills......especially that damn horn!!
This movie was originally dubbed "Jaws on Wheels" during its theatrical release back in 1977. Well, it is not as good as Jaws, but it is a classic 70's scary film (I would not depict it as horror).
Although this is a classic 'B' movie, some of the camera directionals of the car in action are great....even at todays standards.
Overall, I'll give 3 stars out of 5 for just being a fun 'B' movie.
And what a classic tagline.
"What evil drives... The Car".
