Review of The Captain's Paradise (1953) by Bert E — 06 Jan 2009

I watched this movie last night for whatever reason...I actually became enthralled and missed most of the Fiesta Bowl because I was watching it. I had never even heard of this movie before but thoroughly enjoyed this.

It is quite sly. I don't want to post a spoiler but it comes across as very sexist until the end when Alec Guinness's character has his luck run out. Yvonne De Carlo is quite sexy and not rail thin either I might add.

If any of you watch old movies and know of others like this that you would suggest I would appreciate it.
