What an horrific and crazy journey this is. Amazingly shot in black and white, that never felt as right as it is in here, the film tells the story of a simple soldier pretending to be a captain in the last weeks of WW2.
The absurdity of the actions of the men involved, is matched only by the absurdity of that period, but everything is told not with sheer sadness, but with a caustic look that will make you shiver nonetheless.
One of those stories that are so crazy that can only be true...
