At the time, the novelty of having so many BIG stars in the same movie helped carry this further than it should have gone. Looking at it nowadays, there are a few funny bits; Burt and Dom DeLuise are a great duo, the same with Deano and Sammy, and whilst on the subject of great duo's, I must mention Adrienne Barbeau - a great double-act.
Other than that, it kinda sucks. Roger Moore's scenes fall flat more often than not, for a film about a race, there's hardly any racing, and the list goes on. Farrah's terrible as well.
