It's soooooo odd that this movie was made a good while before Robert Altman's Tanner '88, because honestly this seems like a poor man's Tanner '88. Which doesn't mean it's not good.
....in fact it IS good....but not really in that "this is an important film" kind of way, more just in that sort of "this is a really sturdy and well made movie that touches on some stuff that is important but doesn't really SAY much" sort of way.
