Review of The Candidate (1972) by Ted W — 04 Mar 2015
Easily my favorite Redford performance, The Candidate is an insightful look into modern politics. An idealistic young lawyer is convinced to join a senate race and soon loses his identity and moral compass to the idea of winning.
The ending line is haunting. Boyle is equally fantastic as the campaign manager.
