Review of The Candidate (1972) by Brandon V — 26 Nov 2010
I think the movie is even more relevant and important now than it was in the 70's. Robert Redford clearly resembles the idealism and good nature of politics and the people who surround him represent the manipulation and disgusting nature of politics.
I really love this because you get to see a young idealist being challenged and overcoming political manipulation and in the end you're not really sure if he's even really going to go beyond winning the campaign.
