Review of The Call of Cthulhu (2006) by Benjamin D — 28 Jan 2011
I wasn't sure what to expect - its a silent art house type movie which I'm not really partial to. Kae and I really enjoyed it though. I think the director did a good job of blending the modern with classic filming techniques, and the theatrical silent film feel was effective in bridging the gap between Lovecraft's literary style and the type of narrative development that one expects in a movie.
If you like Lovecraft you will probably like this film; the screenplay follows the plot of the story quite closely.
