Review of The Call (2013) by Christina E — 23 Sep 2013
One of the best suspense and thriller movie that I've watched! It totally made me jump on the edge of my seat and scream to the suspense and tense contained in this movie! The Call has a suspenseful pace and enough tension to make it a good thriller movie.
But if you look ordinarily, The Call may have a generic and seen-before story and plot but the solid performances of the casts especially with Halle Berry in the lead made it notable, engaging to watched and effective thriller/suspense movie.
Abigail Breslin and Michael Eklund were are commendable in their performances that helped the movie a stand-out against the same type of Hollywood movies we have seen before. I feel it is an underrated thriller movie and it deserves a second look.
Its also an interesting movie as it gives us a glimpse of what it is inside 911 call center operations and how employees deal with emotional attachment to callers that needs help which is something fresh to be explored.
The Call may not have been a perfect crime-thriller movie but overall it has an effective tension, suspense and thriller that will surely be entertaining and enjoyable to watched. If you're looking for seat-jumping suspense and thriller movie with effective scares and tension then The Call is highly recommended!
