Review of The Call (2013) by Tor M — 03 Oct 2013
The work day for emergency call answerers sure seem to be interesting stuff. Not only that. It's also very hectic, very hi-tech and of course very peaceful at the right moments. Like when you are able to hang on to a call for hours, with the rest of the crew overlooking the call. At times "The Call" looked like a marketing film for 911. Well, this is supposed to be entertaining, and it is in a way. Hell, it even got a bit scary. It's a quite pretty film, well made in many ways. But there are no characther building what so ever, the film does not have time for things like that. The viewer is supposed to be glued to the screen, with an constantly rising heart rate. Sadly, there are also so many stupid moments here. Flaws, plotholes, errors and idiotic decisions are all over the place. It starts of all right, but turns worse and worse, all the way until the ending. This is like an sinking ship in many ways.
Quite clicheful film that anoy more than it entertain.
3.5 out of 10 lost connections.
