Review of The Call (2013) by Janice G — 20 Feb 2014
Surprisingly a joy of a thriller to watch. Halle Berry plays Jordan a 911 operator who takes emergencies on the phone. She is like the best one at her job until a little girl calls her and a man is breaking into her house and kills her.
Jordan is upset and not focused and gives up her job and becomes a teacher to interns. Six months later a little girl named Casey played by Abigail Breslin is kidnapped and Jordan takes charge to rescue her and it becomes a wild goose chase and personal.
Halle Berry gives one of her best performances that just makes you want to cry when she is talking to the little girl. Abigail is does fine work as well. This is a real thriller which is a joy to watch with an unpredictable ending but fun to watch.
A little dull in the end when Halle Berry leaves the 911 place and looks for Abigail herself, but overall a joy to watch. My grade=83%(B).
