Review of The Call (2013) by Matt B — 20 Aug 2013

Although "The Call" starts off feeling like a forced chick flick version of "Taken", somewhere in the middle it actually finds itself becoming an entertainingly tense thriller, only to become ruined by it's final act.

Halle Berry does good but not great work here, while Abigail Breslin`s performance is worth noting. The directing is impressive at times, but "The Call" starts on a bad note, has a fairly entertaining center, and a terrible ending.

"The Call" could have had potential with its center, but it never follows through.
