Review of The Call (2013) by Philip Z — 28 Oct 2013

I agree with the critics -- the movie works splendidly for the first two acts but falls apart in the completely conventional and melodramatic third act. It goes from believable tension ala Speed and becomes some mad slasher flick and that's very disappointing.

The writers clearly painted themselves into a corner and that's a real shame. I would've liked it if the movie had concluded in the same fashion it had begun.
