Review of The Cakemaker (2017) by L G — 27 Aug 2018
Saw this at the local independent non-profit. Tuesday special, screens twice then gone. Was surprised by some of my feelings during the film, as it tested my tolerance. Don't leave this one laying around for the kids to check out. If we had a round-table after watching this I probably wouldn't say that (My profile isn't hidden, I'm not a troll), or more likely just skip out on the talk.
Nails the independent film spirit and execution - doesn't use screeming, violence, bombs, or earth shattering background music to convey emotions. Just look at the camera, often silently, and do that acting thing.
Touching story, good acting. Recommend.
