Review of The Cake Eaters (2007) by Nelson P — 11 Feb 2010
Cake Eaters came out of nowhere to make me feel ... really, really uncomfortable. In the end, I felt sorry for just about everybody. I doubt that was what Masterson was going for. I mean, just picture the lives of these characters a year after the film ends: it's death, sadness, alienation, divorce, crushed dreams and oh yeah, jail time.
However, in the end of the end, if I cared about the characters, I guess I cared about this film, too.
