Review of The Cake Eaters (2007) by Nina M — 28 Sep 2010

Wow, I'm impressed by Kristen Stewart. This must be the first movie I've seen of her, where she actually acts! She still has almost no facial expressions at all, but her body language is good. She tends to ruin movies, so this was a pleasant surprise! I think the story is rather good, but it could have had more depth.

We're looking through windows at a couple of dysfunctional families, and the glimpse we get only makes me wanna know more about them. Where do they come from? What's their stories? Who are they? And the disease, I want to know a little more about it.

But it's a good glimpse, and the acting is decent enough.
