Review of The Cable Guy (1996) by Patrick F — 06 Feb 2010
A brilliantly funny movie. Just goes to show top movie critics often do now recognise true brilliance in a flm when it stares them in the face. Jim Carrey at his comic genius best as the zany product of a generation raised by the TV babysitter looking desperately for someone he can call a true friend drags the ever nervy Matt Broderick deeper and deeper into trouble over one little sin of getting some free cable he is at one moment his best friend next his worst nightmare Carrey has to be the ultimate manipulative control freak.
He portrays his character so well and is perfectly paired with Broderick. This movie is great on many levels prepare to take a trip on the 'information super highway' and be thoroughly entertained.
