Review of The Cable Guy (1996) by Carolyn G — 21 Jun 2011
This is one of the rare times when Jim Carrey doesn't annoy the crap out of me, probably because I sense he was playing himself. This movie isn't as great as some would like to think but it is darned funny.
Matthew Broderick is the anti-Ferris Bueller here: so tight that if you shoved a lump of coal up his butt, in two weeks you'd have a diamond! Fortunately, that works for the movie and he & Carrey work off each other well.
