Review of The Cabin in the Woods (2012) by Jon J — 26 Jan 2014
Welp, this film is a fantastic and fun bloodbath. It may remind you of films like The Hunger Games, Evil Dead or some classic horror film that kills the dumb blond first but with its bone-crushing twists and skull-bashing turns, you're bound to be left palpitating at the edge of your seat.
The exciting turn of events made me give the film a 3/4 thumb up. Likewise, the film presents a likeable cast: a b*tch, a cutie, a stoner, an academic, a jock... but I'm pretty sure you'll root for Marty the stoner guy. He has this comical character and this tumbler that turns into a baseball bat. I thought that was insane.
It may not give you that "aftershock" effect and it may look cliche with the peculiarly-spooky-cabin-in-the-woods-that-only-a-moron-would-go-inside-effect but it's one worth watching if you're craving for something cool.
Good job Drew Goddard! You've proven your title as fan-favorite again! :).
