Review of The Cabin in the Woods (2012) by Joey B — 01 Nov 2014
The Cabin in the Woods. Yes. If someone disliked this film, they either A) don't like horror movies or B) just didn't get it. It is a strange movie, I will admit. But behind the quirkiness is perhaps the greatest lampooning of a genre in history.
Through the use of a "meta" plot, Goddard and Whedon point out the flaws of horror films and skewer nearly every facet of the genre, all while fighting off the camp associated with the creation of a horror-comedy.
Sarcastic, well thought out, brilliantly done. 8.5/10.
