Review of The Cabin in the Woods (2012) by Jake M — 23 Apr 2016
Joss Whedon is most famous for his superhero movies, so when I heard he was the producer of a horror film I was quite shocked and was reluctant to see the movie. However I saw all these reviews that were saying how great this movie was I decided to give it a shot and I am really happy I did.
The Cabin in the Woods is an extremely unique horror film that takes the horror genre to new heights. The film may seem like its a horror film when you first watch it but as the film progresses you start to realize the film is very different but in a good way, and what makes the film unique is that it becomes a comedic horror film that works.
The cast in this film do an awesome job with portraying the cliche characters that you would usually see in a horror film, however I felt that the character of Marty portrayed by Fran Kranz was the best character in the film he totally stole the show, out of all the characters in the film he was the funniest character.
To be completely honest I hope they make more horror films like this one, The Cabin in the Woods is the best horror film in a while, its pretty much everything you would want in a film its funny, scary, suspenseful, and the entire movie keeps you on the edge of your seat till the very end.
If your tired of the same old cliche predictable horror films than I suggest The Cabin in the Woods for you.
