Review of The Cabin in the Woods (2012) by Todd M — 07 Feb 2018
Very clever and well acted and written and directed.
Except for that pothead. Actor "Franz Kranz" apparently. Making a mockery. Or at least for me an eye-roll, of a moronic character and/or poor acting that was never commupapanced.
Root for Kristen Connolly vs. Sigourney Weaver, sure I guess. Root for Franz Kranz? Why would anyone even ponder doing that?
This would be five stars except for that faulty actor. Same, say, if one can imagine, for any movie Jaden Smith is in. Minus one star from the jump.
Really great movie though. Just...I can't abide five stars when it features such a terrible actor/character. And which btw, big potheads are really not much of a horror movie trope to be spoofed.
