Review of The Bye Bye Man (2017) by Andrew K — 14 Jan 2017
The first 20(ish) minutes show potential. A gripping opening and some good camerawork. But then the director and screenwriter husband and wife pair say good bye to it all. The acting ranges from mediocre to laughably terrible, the scares are at best mediocre, and the bulk of Bye Bye Man's best (least shit) ideas come from better horror films.
There's a place for urban legend style scare-taculars, but not this one.
