Review of The Bye Bye Man (2017) by Olivier B — 31 Jan 2017

I think it was kind of decent in some parts. The Bye Bye Man had a cool concept but I feel that they went about it wrong. One of the major turn-offs for this movie was the name for me and my friends; we actually went to see this movie because of the sheer ridiculousness of the name alone.

I find that most of the acting was decent but the characters were badly written. The girlfriend of Elliot seemed distant in the entire film but I think the actor that played Elliot was phenomenal. I could really get that "I'm slowly going insane" vibe from his performance.

The ending was unexpected but the reactions towards the end of this movie were very dull. I find that my two favorite characters in the movie were the female police officer and Elliot. The movie wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it wasn't exactly good either.

all in all I would probably re-watch this movie sometime in the future but it hasn't become a favorite for me.
