I get that there are a few inconsistencies (''dont say it dont think it''? They think and say it all the time, it doesnt work as a trigger) bits of clumsy dialogues, bad lead actress, some pacing mistakes and missed opportunities (underdevelopped mythology coyly begging for a sequel) but all in all it does the job of a standard creeper.
Maybe its not memorable but it in no way deserves the level of harshness it received.
