Review of The Bye Bye Man (2017) by Compi24 — 27 May 2017
"The Bye Bye Man" could have easily tread into the "so bad, it's good" category, with its half-cooked lead performances and ridiculously cheap special effects, but - much to the film's detriment - it wallows in the self-serious mediocrity of exposition dumps and cooky paranoia.
Truly just a mindlessly boring exercise in what a lot of modern horror directors have already grown out of - pathetic jump scares, dumb characters, and a total neglect of the established rules of its own world.
Yeesh.
