The Butler is a quite good emotional ride to take. The all-star cast all perform solid performances but even they can't cover up mistakes contained within the story itself. The film is called 'the Butler" but the scenes where Forest Whitaker is playing the butler, takes the story no- where and it remains that way throughout the entire film, resulting in a quite large, pointless part of the story.

The main scenes of the film are the ones with the blacks trying the live in society as equals with the coloured and the film should have been based on more of that story than the pointless butler part of the story.
