Review of The Butler (2013) by Hakop T — 08 Feb 2014
The Butler is by far one of the best historical dramas I have seen in a really long time. Besides having an extremely interesting story, the acting was spot on. Forest Whittaker and Oprah Winfrey might be looking at some Oscar nominations.
Unlike most historical dramas, The Butler will please and interest a wide variety of people and not just history enthusiasts. Rodrigo Laeo's score was one of the best I have heard in an extremely long time and the songs used in the film capture each moment perfectly.
My only gripe about the film would be it could have been just a little shorter. However, overall Lee Daniel's The Butler is a fantastic historical drama for everyone to enjoy. 9/10.
