Review of The Butler (2013) by Jessica L — 25 Apr 2014

Let me first start by saying that I am NOT a fan of Oprah Winfrey at all and the fact that she was in this movie almost made me not go see it. Now, on the positive side of things, this movie was written and directed well, the plot had a clear direction, the characters were developed well, and it was interesting.

I'm also not usually a fan of the "based on a true story" movies, because those tend to be so far fetched from the actual story that they are based on 90% fiction. After the movie was over I was still interested in learning more about this and went and did some research on my own and I was pleasantly surprised that at least most of what I found lined up with that of the actual movie.

The director of this did a great job and the acting was pretty good as well.
