Review of The Butler (2013) by Lee D — 15 Jun 2014
I enjoyed the butler in way of seeing history unfold kind of the way it did in Forrest gump. seeing this one person experience and be privy to so much without being able to really interact or say his mind on it is an interesting thing to watch.
The butler shows a very uncompromising view of the history of the civil rights movement. from the freedom writers all the way to the election of Barack Obama we see how someone of African ethnicity may have experienced the civil rights movement.
most of the views displayed are fairly balanced and show the ups and downs of being a black individual of a white man's America. all in all I feel that the butler was well executed showing many aspects of American history both good and bad.
worth a watch.
