Too many Ironic connections, to such impactful social and political U.S. Issues. I think it would have worked if it didn't so closely resemble Forrest Gump.
Forest Whitaker was great as usual and surprisingly, so was Oprah. Who personally wowed me was actually Alan Rickman as Reagan. He really did a great job portraying the late president.
Overall it's worth a watch and was quite enjoyable at times; notably the predictable, yet nonetheless touching ending.
