Review of The Butler (2013) by Stephanie A — 08 Feb 2015

Quite moving and very interesting movie, I liked the way they juxtaposed the career of the butler against the civil rights movement of American African Americans. But yet again, I'm not sure if it's Oprah, it's this massive sweeping saga that just seems to show this really middle class almost cosby show cookie cutter black characters.

would love to see something a bit grittier than what seems to be coming out of Hollywood about this subject right now. it's not a bad movie by any means.
