Review of The Butler (2013) by Mark S — 21 Apr 2015
One of Forest Whitaker's finest performances and a nicely done piece of historical fiction that manages to make you entertained and think about the complexities of U.S. racial and historical politics.
While not as grim or hard as it could have (especially with Lee Daniels at the framework), the film serves its purpose well enough.
