Review of The Butcher of Prague (2011) by Tomas R — 21 Oct 2013
A true testament to horrors of war, human nature and suffering. Beautiful photography, Karel Roden a Zuzana Bydzovska could not serve as better mediums through which the viewer can feel emotions, love and sheer desperation of these two and remaining 308 innocent Czechs murdered.
Perhaps just because of that, and knowledge of this story, I found myself in constant fight with my urge to turn this nightmare off. At the end, I finished conclusion of Lidice, beautiful but hard to swallow story and was left with emptiness and sorrows.
All too often, we take our lives for granted and this movie will forever remind me how precious the moments lived in peace and surrounded by people that one can love.
