Review of The Burning Plain (2008) by Andrew S — 31 Mar 2009
I really enjoy this film I found the story quite enthralling and memorizing not as good as 21 Grams but still interesting. I really liked the look of the film when it focused on Charlize Theron's character and it had awahses of blues and grays and this really cold realistic look amazing combination of lighting and production design.
At first I didn't realize that the stories were her past and present I thought it was two parallel stories taking place at the same time just different places. My biggest problem was the wardrobe it took me a while to realize that it was taking place in two different era's because of the style of the characters.
It suppose to be like a 10-12 year gap between her childhood and adulthood but yet I feel like the clothes should have represented the childhood era she grew up in but it felt so modern to me.
