Review of The Burning Plain (2008) by Lora N — 13 Sep 2009
Typical Guillermo Arriaga film, but doesn't quite deliver that kicked-in-the-gut, hollowed-out-empty feeling that 21 Grams did. Interesting and clever character development (as always), and good complex narrative style to tell the stories of the different (and same) characters.
A bit messy and convoluted at first, but as film goes on, the plot intensifies and becomes clear.
Although a bit melodramatic, it's a good sad film that delivers a striking finale.
