Review of The Burning Plain (2008) by Pourya E — 13 Feb 2010
I loved Arriga's "Amores Perros" and "Babel", both charged with the right amount of sentiments. "The Burning Plain" however comes short in terms of dramaturgy and drive since it's a sentimental story which isn't charged with much sentiment! The characters and the intrigues become shallow and almost clinically sterile, while the capital is spent on an unconventional narration instead.
Trying hard to make it unlike Babel's!
