Review of The Burning Plain (2008) by Elisabeth B — 31 Jul 2010
Beautifully told story about a woman running away from herself and her past. Charlize Theron is one of my favorite actresses and her incredible acting makes me cry a million times in this film. Excellently cast, the actors are all under the skillful hand of Guillermo Arriaga, who evolves the story with a uniform gloom in three time periods: pre-trailer burn, post-trailer burn and Marianna in the present. Kim Basinger is simply stunning in her role in this film. There's one scene that is beyond words. She just keeps getting better. I thought it was cool Theron recommended Basinger for the role.
And hello J.D. Pardo you Mexican hottie!!
Beautiful story, beautifully told. Nothing held back, it's raw, real and emotional.
