Review of The Burning Plain (2008) by Jonathan K — 15 Dec 2010
The pacing is a bit uneven so the film drags. and the connection between the storylines feels a bit, well, scripted. the story could have been more powerful but it takes too long to sap any empathetic emotion out of the Mariana character, teen or adult.
a very depressing but also extremely realistic view. the character study aspect is perhaps the most compelling angle of the film. let's just say I wanted to like it more than I did. tons of potential.
