Review of The 'Burbs (1989) by Moyi D — 02 Mar 2011
This was surprisingly one of the best movies I've ever seen. I grew up in the suburbs but now that I don't live there anymore, a movie like this is just what I need - a perfect depiction of peaceful suburban life with friendly neighbors, but beneath that there's something completely crazy going on.
Makes me feel nostalgic without feeling bored, and it is soo funny! The darker side of me wants to say that even the ending is perfect - yes we really needed a real murderer amongst us, not just some harmless misunderstanding, because sometimes beneath peaceful everyday life, there are things happening that you would never have believed, and the ending affirms that.
