Review of The 'Burbs (1989) by Jacob S — 24 Oct 2012
I don't really know why the critics don't like this one. It's basically just a satire of Rear Window set in Suburbia. I thought it was funny. Tom Hanks gives an entertaining performance--as does the rest of the cast--and Joe Dante's direction gives you a very suspenseful and simultaneously tongue-in-cheek tone.
Personally, I like it. Another good horror comedy from the guy who brought you Gremlins.
