Review of The 'Burbs (1989) by Robby B — 09 Jul 2015
Back in the mid-to-late 80's, Tom Hanks hadn't yet entered his Oscar phase, and America had just started it's love affair with the affable actor. Movies like Splash, the Money Pit, Bachelor Party, Big, Dragnet, and the Burbs were his bread and butter and he was hilarious in all of them.
This movie is still great 26 years later back when PG movies were actually watchable. It's just impossible not to laugh at him trying to eat a sardine on a pretzel during their visit with the Klopeks.
Early Tom Hanks comedies are some of his best work in my opinion.
