After this second viewing, my thoughts are really pushed forward that this SHOULD'VE been a critique of suburban boredom and paranoia. Instead, it's basically a support for it. However, it's still a cute, funny, and watchable little 80s comedy.
Dante's visual style of bright Americana against cartoon-like macabre is perfect, and no one is better than Hanks at silly screaming. Just wish it ended 5 min earlier.
