Review of The Buddy Holly Story (1978) by David F — 09 Dec 2009
Despite a TV movie feel and a reviewer's quote (with no story link that worked for me) that the story was "80% fiction", the film still featured a surprising performance by Busey and did the job of displaying the clash between the overwhelming moral objection to rock and roll and the people who enjoyed it, despite bigoted fear that it was "nigger music" in an indoctrinated society of entrenched racism.
Musical performance sequences abound and provide the central entertainment.
