Review of The Buddy Holly Story (1978) by The Critic ( — 12 Aug 2012
A consistently compelling telling of one of the music industry's most important figures, 'The Buddy Holly Story' depicts a time when rock 'n' roll was at its peak. Gary Busey portrays Holly with admirable integrity, but fails to capture the artist's complex, unique singing style, and that the filmmakers have opted to alter some lyrics of his incredible catalogue is annoying.
Despite this quip, it says a lot about a production team that can still pull off an engrossing and considerably accurate biopic of a true music legend.
