Review of The Bucket List (2007) by Jake K — 30 Jul 2012
As I watched this film I didn't see Edward cole or Carter Chambers, I saw Jack Nicholson and Morgen Freeman. I saw red from the shawshank redemption and Melvin udall from as good as it gets. Result?? A film that feels forced, Emotionally desperate and despite the two outstanding leads, (which in all honesty was the sole reason for watching the film anyway) far fetched dialogue which doesn't strike the same chord as what were used to.
It has a recycled feel to it, borrowing elements such as the lucrative narration from morgen freeman, or the ignorance and wise cracking demonstrated in many Jack nicholson characters before, this in summary takes away credibility from the plot which isn't to bad along with the concept it is based on, but because of these integral, and costly reasons they count for little.
I recommend this for die hard fans of the two actors but margins narrow beyond that.
