Review of The Bucket List (2007) by Dana S — 23 Nov 2012
An unlikely pairing happens when Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson end up in the same hospital room while recovering from cancer. Refusing to accept the finality of death, they compile a "bucket list" of marvelous adventures to share before they run out of time.
At times hilarious, at times sad, the movie is a testament to the human spirit. Forgiveness, reconciliation, love, and a sense of seeking the majestic in the face of dying, are just a few of the themes running through the movie.
You will enjoy the deepening friendship that grows between Freeman and Nicholson as they play out their "bucket list," and the ending will both surprise and amaze you. Hollywood should make more movies about people with cancer and death, movies which have such poignant stories and up-lifting qualities as this film.
