Review of The Brown Bunny (2003) by Iris S — 05 Dec 2008
I give this movie a split right in the middle. I fancy myslef an independent film fan, and this film was the first to let me know I am a little more mainstream than I would like to admit. I was bored, and did not find it that interesting. I loved Buffalo '66, Gallo's first film, but this had nothing going on, and I was utterly bored. The driving was not creative nor revealing, you were as bored as the camera.
The last 20 minutes of the movie were the entire story really. the first hour and 10 minutes were all showing how lonely he was. I would have rather seen more "accidental flashes" where he confuses others with her.
The story once told was good. the ending was well done, but the rest of the movie was a bore.
Vincent Gallo please talk in your films, because your deivery is amazing of all the lines you actually speak.
