Review of The Brown Bunny (2003) by Lady Of The Minnesota Mounts — 17 Feb 2009
Could have been, should have been so much better. The premise of the film is perfect for this type of Indie flick. But Vincet Gallo proves that he should not have so much influence over a single movie.
Lead actor, director, writer & editor, the self indulgence is apparent form the start to the end. This film need another voice or two to stop the vision being so blinkered. The controversial BJ scene is completely unecessary to the plot (another thing that may have been scuppered by another voice) and is uncomfortable viewing, but not in a way that suits the plotline.
Such a shame.
