Review of The Brothers Solomon (2007) by Ryan P — 28 Jun 2008
The Brothers Solomon is definitely a mixed bag. Arnett, Forte, and McBride give very good comedic performances, but the material is definitely hit-or-miss. Some of it is laugh-out-loud funny, but too much of the thin script is corny and groan inducing.
And some of the gags are almost exactly like Dumb and Dumber, which is way funnier than this. The two ledes were obviously based on Harry and Lloyd but it just doesn't work nearly as well. With all that said, it's a solid watch and a fun comedy to view with a few friends.
Worth a rental if you are in the mood for a lighthearted, silly film.
